Odds Competitiveness

7/12

Pricing at The Online Casino is generally solid, drawing on the ProgressPlay platform and its underlying sportsbook technology, a well established setup used internationally. Standard prices hold up reasonably well across football and the other major sports, though The Online Casino will not always be the sharpest price on a given event. One drawback is that The Online Casino does not feature on the major live odds comparison services, so checking how its prices stack up against other bookmakers requires visiting the site directly rather than glancing at a comparison grid. Boosted Odds add some further value on selected football, tennis and basketball events. Taken overall, the everyday pricing is respectable, even if the scope of price enhancements trails what some of the bigger UK sportsbooks offer.

Market Coverage

4.5/8

The main sports expected of a UK bookmaker are all present at The Online Casino, with football, horse racing, tennis, basketball, cricket and rugby forming the core. The ProgressPlay sportsbook also brings strong coverage of European and international fixtures, and esports is particularly well represented across events and markets. That breadth comes at a cost to the sports menu, which ends up longer than it needs to be. Alongside the mainstream sports sit options such as water polo and pickleball, useful if either happens to be a specialist interest, but unlikely to feature in most UK punters' Saturday routines. Trimming the menu would make navigation more efficient. Market depth is strongest on football, especially for the bigger fixtures, though the gap to the leading UK sportsbooks becomes clear once you look for more specialist markets. Horse racing is more basic still, with the fundamentals in place but nothing like the depth offered by dedicated racing bookmakers. There is no shortage of sports to bet on at The Online Casino, and the esports coverage in particular deserves credit. The priority now should be building greater depth within the markets that UK bettors actually use most.

In-Play Betting

2/3

In-play carries real weight in the design of The Online Casino sportsbook. ‘Live’ sits directly alongside ‘Sport’ at the very top of the page, making it a single click to reach fixtures already underway, and the volume of live events across football, tennis, basketball, esports and various niche sports is generally strong. Individual event pages back this up well, combining live markets with visual trackers, scores and match details. What stands out, though not necessarily for the right reasons, are the large numbers shown next to each market category, which look impressive until you realise they are counting individual betting options rather than distinct market types. Set against bet365, where genuine variety across in-play market types is considerably deeper, that distinction becomes more obvious. The live product is prominent and easy to reach at The Online Casino, but the underlying market depth does not quite match the scale those headline figures might suggest.

Bet Builder

1/3

A Bet Builder feature is available through The Online Casino, and matches that support it are flagged with a clear ‘BB’ tag, so spotting eligible fixtures is not a problem. The range of markets on offer for constructing your own same game multiple is reasonably good. The weak point is how the tool actually behaves. Choosing one market can leave incompatible options still selectable, only for the system to reject the combination once you try to add it, rather than removing those options automatically once they stop being viable. For a simple two or three leg selection this barely registers, but building anything more elaborate turns into trial and error, adding selections and finding out by trial which ones the system will accept. The core functionality works, it is the experience around it that needs attention.

Live Streaming

0/2

Video streaming is simply not part of the offering at The Online Casino, whether for horse racing, football or anything else, which sits oddly against how heavily the ‘Live’ betting product is promoted throughout the site. Live visualisations and match statistics are available on some events, but they are a poor substitute for footage of the actual action. There is a fair commercial reason for this. Streaming rights are expensive to license and that cost does not scale neatly with a smaller customer base, so operators without the volumes of the biggest brands often find it hard to justify. That context does not change the experience for the customer, though. If watching sport through your bookmaker matters to you, The Online Casino is behind the larger UK operators on this front, understandable as the business reasoning might be.

Cash Out

2/2

Cash Out sits within selected sports, events and markets at The Online Casino, meaning eligible bets can be settled before the final whistle or finish line rather than waiting for the natural conclusion. It applies to both pre-match and in-play wagers, and covers singles as well as multiples, though qualification varies from bet to bet. A Partial Cash Out option extends this further, letting you bank a portion of the stake while the remainder continues to run, which adds a useful layer of control when a live market is moving quickly. As ever, whether the option appears comes down to the specific event and market in question, so checking the bet slip at the point of placing is the only reliable way to know.

Ongoing Promotions

5/12

Permanent sportsbook promotions are not especially numerous at The Online Casino, but effort clearly goes into offers built around major competitions and events. The Acca Super Boost stands out among the regulars, offering a profit boost of up to 100% on qualifying accumulators, alongside the Boosted Odds already covered elsewhere. ‘Bet & Get’ offers also appear fairly regularly, rewarding a qualifying deposit and bet with a Free Bet, functioning much like an old fashioned reload bonus and giving existing customers a reason to keep coming back. Worth watching for too are the larger cashback promotions that surface around major events such as Champions League football, with some reaching up to £500. That ceiling is considerably higher than you might expect from a sportsbook of this size and makes these offers genuinely relevant to bigger stakes players. Operating as an agent based white label platform does bring some limitations on what types of promotions can be implemented, and within those constraints, The Online Casino does a reasonable job of adding extra value, even if the permanent promotional catalogue remains on the smaller side.

Daily Promotions

3/8

Promotions tied to the day's biggest fixtures are thin on the ground at The Online Casino, and this is an area with clear scope for improvement, particularly around featured offers built for standout matches and events. Part of the issue is structural: there is no promotional carousel at the top of the sportsbook, a tool many bookmakers use to highlight daily offers, price boosts and event specials the moment a customer logs in. The Online Casino has no real equivalent serving that purpose. Boosted Odds and occasional promotions around major competitions do exist, but the overall impression of a new offer waiting to be discovered each day is not really there yet at The Online Casino. Introducing more featured event promotions alongside a prominent carousel would go a long way toward changing that.

Price Boosts

2/4

Enhanced prices at The Online Casino have their own home in a ‘Boosted Odds’ section of the left hand menu, which makes them easy to locate. Football dominates the selection, with a solid spread of boosted singles across the major competitions. ‘Multiples Of The Day’ sit alongside these as pre built accumulators offered at enhanced odds, and I actually prefer their presentation, since a yellow tab spells out the percentage boost applied so the added value is obvious at a glance. The boosted singles do not get the same treatment. Without a ‘was/now’ display of the original price next to the enhanced one, it is harder to judge exactly how much extra you are being given. Taken as a whole, the range on offer is decent and having it grouped in one dedicated section is a sensible touch, with the Multiples Of The Day standing out as the better presented of the two. Extending that same transparency to boosted singles would be a straightforward improvement, and a broader variety of boost types and greater volume would make the section carry more weight for regular players.

Loyalty Programme

1/2

A Rewards Programme runs through The Online Casino, allowing points earned from play to build up, unlock higher loyalty levels and be redeemed in a Rewards Store, with Free Bets, casino bonuses and Free Spins among the options, covering both sports and casino customers. Programmes of this kind rarely impress me much, particularly at smaller operators. It can take a substantial amount of play before enough points accumulate to redeem for something genuinely worthwhile, and I would generally rather see that value delivered directly through promotions, cashback or Free Bets. Some of the rewards also come with their own restrictions, which chips away at their value further. Even so, having a structured loyalty scheme is better than offering regular customers nothing at all in return for their play.

Usability & Design

7.5/20
Mobile App2/8
Navigation & Search3/4

Design & Interface1/4

Mobile App

2/8

There is no dedicated app for The Online Casino at present. Both iOS and Android customers are directed instead to a mobile optimised website, which does at least bring the full sportsbook to a mobile browser, even if the way it is presented takes some adjusting to. On a phone screen, the sportsbook appears to load inside a framed section that can occupy only around half the display at certain points, with a large carousel positioned above it that adds little in the way of function. The more awkward part is the scrolling behaviour, where you scroll within the sportsbook frame itself and then have to scroll again outside it to move around the wider page. This is really a platform level issue rather than something specific to the sportsbook, and it gets covered in more depth in the usability section below. For now, the headline is that The Online Casino is usable on mobile without an app, but the experience falls short of seamless.

Navigation & Search

3/4

Once you get used to the layout, moving around The Online Casino is fairly intuitive, and the left hand menu deserves particular credit. Rather than opening a sport, loading a new page and navigating again to reach a specific competition, you can filter straight through from the same menu. This works especially well when switching between sports or leagues, letting you reach the competition you want in fewer clicks. It is one instance where the older European style layout genuinely benefits The Online Casino. Because so many sports are covered, the menu itself runs long, packed with niche European and international options alongside the more mainstream UK sports, though the filtering function makes that scale manageable rather than overwhelming. Inside an event, markets are grouped into clear categories, Live fixtures are given prominence, Bet Builder eligible matches carry the ‘BB’ tag, and Boosted Odds get their own section. The iframe setup does add friction, particularly the separate scrolling behaviour inside and outside the sportsbook frame, but focused purely on the menu structure, The Online Casino gets a lot right.

Bet Slip Usability

1.5/4

For straightforward single bets, the bet slip at The Online Casino does the job well enough, clearly laying out selection, odds, stake and potential returns, and staying conveniently positioned alongside the sportsbook on desktop as you browse. Multiples and combination bets expose the weaker side of things. Options such as Lucky 15s are not identified in the clear, familiar way UK bettors are used to, and anyone accustomed to betting this way on horse racing in particular may find the presentation confusing at first. The older European feel of the sportsbook shows through here again, with functionality present but not always framed using the terminology and layout most UK bettors would immediately recognise. Combine that with the Bet Builder issue of incompatible selections remaining selectable, and the overall picture is a bet slip that handles simple bets adequately but needs meaningful work for anything more complex.

Design & Interface

1/4

From a branding standpoint, The Online Casino actually presents itself pretty well on the surface. The landing pages carry a modern look with clean, contemporary branding that would not look out of place among newer sportsbooks. That impression shifts once you register and step into the sportsbook itself, where the interface reflects the older ProgressPlay technology underneath, and the contrast with the landing pages is considerable. I am not keen on that gap. The outward facing pages set an expectation about the betting experience that follows, and what you actually get once inside looks and feels quite different. Encouraging sign ups on the strength of a presentation that does not reflect the eventual product feels somewhat misleading. The promotional banner carousel does not help the overall impression either, leaning on generic stock imagery with text overlaid rather than anything that feels built specifically for The Online Casino. For such a prominent piece of the page, it does little to establish an identity of its own. Structurally, the sportsbook itself carries an older European feel and runs a four column desktop layout. Some will appreciate having a large amount of information visible at once, with quick movement between sports, competitions and events, while others will find it busy. That is largely down to personal taste. The bigger issue is simply that the platform feels dated. Having followed this sportsbook technology for roughly a decade, remarkably little appears to have moved on. The Online Casino clearly has the design capability to produce something more contemporary, as the initial website shows, but once inside the betting platform, that capability is held back by technology overdue an overhaul.

Withdrawals

1/2

Choice is the standout feature of withdrawals at The Online Casino, with debit card, PayPal, Skrill, Payz, Neteller, Apple Pay and Instant Bank Payment all supported. That is a wider spread than most UK bookmakers manage, and eWallet users in particular are well served. One business day of internal processing is required before a withdrawal is released, according to The Online Casino, after which the time to actually receive funds depends on the method chosen, with eWallets and Instant Bank Payment typically ahead of card payments. Those timescales are reasonable rather than exceptional. A number of leading UK bookmakers now process withdrawals the same day, occasionally landing on a debit card within hours, so there is a gap to the very best in the market. Less welcome is the withdrawal fee, set at 1% and capped at £3. The strength of the payment method list and the acceptable processing times are genuine positives, but removing that fee and tightening up the processing speed would leave little to criticise.

Banking Options

2/2

Deposit options at The Online Casino cover a broad range, including major debit cards, Apple Pay, PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Payz, Paysafecard and Instant Bank Payment. Whatever your preferred way of funding an account, there is a good chance it is catered for here. Mobile users get a genuinely convenient route in with Apple Pay, and the presence of PayPal, Skrill and Neteller gives The Online Casino a stronger eWallet lineup than many rivals in the UK market. Instant Bank Payment adds a further option for those who would rather deposit straight from their bank account. Banking is one of the clearer strengths of The Online Casino. Cards, eWallets, mobile payment and bank transfer are all represented, so most customers should find a method that suits them without difficulty.

Sign-Up Process

1.5/2

Opening an account with The Online Casino follows a familiar pattern, asking for the standard set of personal details, email address, name, date of birth, mobile number and home address, before the account itself is created. From there, identity and age need to be verified before deposits or bets can go ahead. Most of the time this happens automatically as part of the verification step, though photographic ID and proof of address may occasionally be requested. Registration is straightforward and quick to complete at The Online Casino, without any unnecessary steps that would make joining more complicated than it needs to be.

Verification Process

1.5/2

Identity and age verification at The Online Casino takes place through standard KYC checks before deposits or bets are permitted, covering name, address and date of birth, with further checks applied when necessary. Where documentation is required, this typically means photographic ID such as a passport or driving licence, plus proof of address in the form of a recent utility bill or bank statement. Source of Funds or Source of Wealth checks may also be requested in certain circumstances. The Online Casino states that document verification can take up to three working days once submitted, a reasonable window for manual review, though clearer guidance on typical turnaround for standard electronic checks, where no documents are needed, would be a welcome addition. Overall, verification requirements at The Online Casino are in line with what is standard across UK bookmakers, covering the usual checks without adding unnecessary hurdles.

Security

1.5/2

Protection of customer data at The Online Casino relies on 128 bit Secure Socket Layer encryption paired with firewall technology, covering the information that passes between a customer and the operator's servers. Specialist payment providers handle the processing side, each bringing their own fraud checks and security safeguards. ProgressPlay looks after personal data more broadly, and states it applies technical and organisational measures intended to guard against loss, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. The Online Casino can also carry out payment and identity verification when needed, which adds a further safeguard against fraudulent activity on an account. The operator behind The Online Casino is ProgressPlay Limited, licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the UK Gambling Commission under account number 39335, with an additional licence from the Malta Gaming Authority. Nothing here breaks new ground, but that is not really the point. Encryption, secure payment handling, identity checks and UKGC oversight together deliver exactly the layers of protection a regulated UK bookmaker should provide, and The Online Casino meets that standard.

Customer Experience

Customer Support2.5/4
Betting Tools0.5/2

Customer Support

2.5/4

Support at The Online Casino comes through live chat and email, with live chat the faster route for anything urgent. Both channels are advertised as being available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, which matters for a sportsbook where a lot of betting activity happens well outside typical office hours. An FAQ and Help Centre back these up, covering the usual ground of account queries, verification, deposits, withdrawals, bonuses and responsible gambling. Both could benefit from fuller answers and wider coverage of common issues, but they do a reasonable job as a first port of call before contacting support directly. Telephone support is absent, which is true of most operators in this space, but I would still like to see it offered, even if only during standard hours. Some account, verification or payment issues are simply easier to resolve by speaking to a person directly. Round the clock live chat and email give The Online Casino the two most important support channels covered, and the FAQ and Help Centre are adequate without excelling. Adding phone support and expanding the help section further would lift the overall service.

Betting Tools

0.5/2

On selected events, The Online Casino provides live match trackers and visualisations covering scores, progress and statistics, all without needing to leave the sportsbook. These pair well with the strongly promoted In Play section, offering a fast read on a match before committing to a live bet. Outside of that, the toolkit thins out noticeably. A proper research and statistics area, one that would let you dig into team form, player records and historical results, is missing, as is anything resembling a bet calculator. The absence of a sports betting blog is also a little disappointing. Nothing about the ProgressPlay platform prevents this kind of content, and Interbet, operating on the same platform previously, managed to run a genuinely good sports blog with previews, tips and editorial features. There is no reason The Online Casino could not build something similar, since it sits apart from the underlying sportsbook technology entirely. Some of the constraints of a white label setup are understandable when it comes to core betting functionality, but content and supporting resources are a different matter and do not face the same restrictions. The live visualisations do their job competently, but there is plainly room for The Online Casino to add more in the way of statistics, research tools and editorial content built around the sportsbook itself.

Account Management

1.5/2

Managing an account at The Online Casino is generally straightforward, with the key settings and information easy enough to find. Deposits, withdrawals, transaction history, certain personal details and verification information can all be handled from within the account area. The Safer Gambling section stands out as particularly thorough, offering daily, weekly and monthly limits on deposits, wagering and losses, alongside Reality Checks, Time Out and self exclusion. These controls apply across the wider ProgressPlay network rather than being limited to just The Online Casino. Basic sportsbook preferences, such as how odds are displayed, can also be adjusted, and bonuses or rewards are accessible through the relevant account sections. On functionality, The Online Casino performs well here, with most important tasks manageable without contacting support and a genuinely strong set of Safer Gambling controls. The presentation lags behind the leading sportsbooks, but very little is actually missing in terms of what the account area can do.

Responsible Gambling

2/2

Responsible Gambling provision at The Online Casino is genuinely comprehensive, with a dedicated Safer Gambling section that is simple to find from the main site. Daily, weekly and monthly Deposit, Wagering and Loss Limits are all available, alongside Reality Checks, Time Out and Self Exclusion. Credit is also due for the range of external organisations listed as sources of further help and support. Players who feel their gambling may be becoming a problem are pointed toward independent services with plenty of supporting information, exactly what should be expected from a responsible UK operator. The footer is one area I would like to see strengthened, with a fuller set of Responsible Gambling links providing direct access to individual tools and support services rather than requiring navigation through the main menu. Greater visibility elsewhere on the site, perhaps an occasional banner in the main carousel, would also help. Overall, The Online Casino offers an excellent set of Responsible Gambling tools and should be commended for the volume of external support information on offer, with further gains available simply by making it more prominent.
